Previously I lived in Sweden for nearly 20 years and my quest there was to hybridize auriculas to produce ever better plants suitable for the harsh Swedish climate. Whilst living there I also created and run Sweden’s Auricula Club. I've now returned to England to continue growing auriculas together with my daughter-in-law, Iris. Iris is also an enthusiastic & skilful Iris grower; many of her wonderful Irises can be seen on this blog.

From little acorns………
First acorns on the Oaks.
Some years ago we picked some acorns from the
City Park in Örebro; these we planted and the resulting oak trees are nearly 8
metres tall and producing their own acorns.
Over 20 years ago we also collected some acorns
from a Turkish Oak Quercus cerrisin a park in Bexley Heath,
London. We planted them in pots and brought one of them with us to Sweden, it’s found
it hard going here in Sweden and is still only 140cm tall.
