Previously I lived in Sweden for nearly 20 years and my quest there was to hybridize auriculas to produce ever better plants suitable for the harsh Swedish climate. Whilst living there I also created and run Sweden’s Auricula Club. I've now returned to England to continue growing auriculas together with my daughter-in-law, Iris. Iris is also an enthusiastic & skilful Iris grower; many of her wonderful Irises can be seen on this blog.

Auriculas in minus 14°C.
Auriculas at minus 14 centigrade
It’s was minus 14°C this morning with a little snow. The snow is now
about 10-15cm deep which is just enough to cover most of the auriculas in the borders,
although some are still partially exposed.
The chicken wire you can see in the picture is to help deter the badger from digging up my auriculas.
