Previously I lived in Sweden for nearly 20 years and my quest there was to hybridize auriculas to produce ever better plants suitable for the harsh Swedish climate. Whilst living there I also created and run Sweden’s Auricula Club. I've now returned to England to continue growing auriculas together with my daughter-in-law, Iris. Iris is also an enthusiastic & skilful Iris grower; many of her wonderful Irises can be seen on this blog.

Disturbed and eaten auriculas
Some form of animal, presumably a rodent, has been digging around and in the aricula pots in the greenhouse. It has dug and eaten entire plants; this is the first time I have had such a problem in over 17 years. I have set out mouse traps and caught a small mouse, but the traps are now ignored and more plants have been eaten, some 30 auriculas in all. So the hunt continues for the culprit.
